Indiana Resources

There is currently no published book or database resource of Indiana waterfalls that I know of. This was a challenge in creaing this database. I therefore scrourged the web to find any information of published falls. Besides these sites below, I also did google image searches and searches in Flickr for Indiana waterfalls.

Like other states, a useful site is Great Lakes Waterfalls, which has information & photos of--and directions to--9 Indiana falls.

Another useful site is Indiana Whitewater, a website more focused on kayaking down rivers, but has info about falls because of needing to pass them.

KMZ Icon Legend

Below are the icons you will see for the KMZ files that make up the database. The color code is just to give clarity of the certainly of the waterfall's location and information that we have about it.

Blue: Confirmed location and visual proof of waterfall.

Yellow: Known location uncertain. Fairly certain fall exists, but further information needed to confirm.

Red: Rumored waterfall. Need more information.

Inside the KMZ's...

Here is how it works: Each link is a KMZ file for each individual State. Each State will have subfolders in the KMZ file for individual counties or specific areas (Like a designated national forest or park). All of the Placemarks (KMZ's) of the individual waterfalls will be in these subfolders.

Don't have Google Earth? What are you waiting for?
